I dont understand auction houses. I placed a bid for soemthing and it took my money but how do i know if i won it or not? It was a sword. If i didnt win the bid do i get my money back?
Also i just outbid a armer cloth. Does that mean i own it? I payed for it but i cant find it? I clicked on outbid for that one. at least i think it was called outbid.
you will get either your money back or your item you bid on in the mail depending if you won or not
If you place a bid it takes your money until somebody out-bids you at which point it will be returned to you.
If you’re bidding in the auction house the auction must run it’s full course before the winner is determined. Your place as the high bidder will hold you as the winner until somebody else bids higher than you.
If you want items right there right then you need to select buyout and pay the buyout price immediately.
Here is how Auction Houses work:
When you bid an item you have to wait until its auction time expires and if there is no higher bidder on that item than you, then you win the auction for that item. The time left for an auction is shown in the AH window. After it expires it’s delivered to you by mail. So you have to go to the nearest mailbox (usually there’s one near the AH) and you should also be able to see an icon of a brief next to your minimap, indicating you have unread mail.
After you buyout an auction off the AH, it becomes available to you immidiately and is also delivered to you by mail.
