I currently have blacksmithing and enchanting. I dont think blacksmithing is going to help me out, but I was a noob when I chose it. Should I keep enchanting and go for something else or just choose two different careers?
I am also not sure how I use my professions in this game. Can anyone shed some light on how I use them?
If you want professsions that will help you right now in the game or later in the game i would pick tailor and enchant. If you want professions that will buff up your skills than go for herbs, mining, or skinning (Herbs will give you additional health for a certain amount of time, Mining will give you strength boost (I don’t suggest that one), Skinning will allow you to get more crits). But as i was saying, tailoring will allow you to make cloth items (which is what warlocks use) and enchantment which is great to enchant your staves (or any other weapon you use) and the cloth items you make. I hope i helped, enjoy the game!
If your warlock is the only character in that realm, I suggest you pick up dual gathering skills to help you with your cash. I usually go with skinning/mining or skinning/herbalism. If you think you are good with your income, you can try keeping your enchanting and going for tailoring or jewelcrafting as the 2nd one.
There are three types of gathering skills. Skinning, mining and herbalism. The rest of the skills are trade skills that may or may not require the aid of gathering skills. For example, if you decide to keep blacksmithing, it is easier for you to take up mining as your 2nd profession because you can mine ores and stones that are needed for your blacksmithing profession.
Tailoring and Mining ftw!
Whatever you choose though, pick mining… thats where all the big bucks come from.
Enchanting/Tailoring or Herbalism/Alchemy. Both are good for your class to make money, as well as not needing to buy items such as cloth armor or potions which can be very useful.
Skinning is worthless, Herbalism is where the money is at right now and mining is on the decline.
Level really doesn’t matter for skills, except that its hard to get into some areas where they have good stuff at a low level, example: Getting into a place that might have silver at like level 10 for mining. .
But for me, im a level 40 druid. I have Mining, and skinning. Mining helps alot for me, but you may want to check at the AH. Just go and look at what some stuff is selling for, like bronze bars. If its usually like 20 gold, then take it.
I agree with all the comments so far. Blacksmith/enchanting really don’t go well together You will spend a lot of time in AH (aution house)to get your mats to build up each of those professions. Blacksmiths are better suited for the Mail/Plate wearers of the world. Tailor/enchanting goes well Tailoring you can make your own wearable armor or sell it to other clothies (priest, mages). Inscription/Herbs, Alchy/Herbs. Skinning/leatherworking(being a clothie you will never be able wear the leatherworking items, fyi), Jewelcraft/mining, Blacksmith/mining, Engineer/mining. OR just do 2 gathering skills and sell the mats on AH. such as herb/mining, skinning/mining or herb/skinning. Just make sure you pick up all three of the secondary skills; First Aid, cooking and the dreaded fishing skill. Band-aids are a must. Cooking gives great food buffs and fishing, is boring, but you can cook fish (or sell in AH). I hope this helps
