because tauren have the +15 herbalism skill, i kind of wanted to go with herbalism. iv been meaning to try inscription, but some people are saying that it’s best to go with 2 gathering professions, like herbalism and mining. i cant decide! any suggestions…?
i have a lv 48 tauren druid, and i went with herbalism and alchemy.
higher level alchemy allows you to create potions that you can sell for a lot of money, and that can buff you quite well. i usually have two or three potions buffing me at any given time.
good luck!
Herb and Skinning or Herb and Mining are gold professions, or you can go with skinning and LW to make gear for you’reself.
Yeah, Herbalism and Inscription. Just go for it. I am a tauren and I have both these proffesions maxed. Its VERY helpful more than my other taurens with other proffesions.
it depends on what you plan to do with the character at endgame (raiding, etc).
as a leather-wearing class, picking up skinning and leatherworking is a great way to craft yourself some gear as you level (and skinning is generally profitable, as well as giving you a crit bonus). skinning gets you the raw leather to use as materials to craft leather armor.
at maxxed levels, leatherworking gives you bracers embroideries which give a significant boost to a stat. for example, spellcasters get a bracer enchant that gives 61 spell power, and melee have an attack power equivalent, if I recall correctly. leatherworkers also craft melee DPS and tanking leg armors (enchants).
if you plan to level and play as a feral druid (cat and bear), skinning-LW is the best option. even as a spellcaster, the bracer enchants are awesome, and crafting your own gear as you level is a great help.
the only reason to go with two gathering professions is to try to make gobs of money, and that usually only works when your character is max level and can farm the herbs or whatever. I have personally never taken advantage of a racial bonus to a profession; it shouldn’t be the deciding factor in your choice of profession.
best of luck!
