Im trying to figure out what primary professions to choose. I want to make lots of money.
I like Alchemy+herbalism or Skinning+leatherwork(make stuff for my own charicter and not waste money by buying it), but i dont know if that makes alot of money if i sell wat i make.
Bisicly tell me what will make lots of profit and inturn help me out. Tell me about your expirences also
The best professions early in the game(until level 40 or so) are the gathering professions. Take skinning + herbalism or mining
don't take herbs + mining as you can only track one at a time. Do this and AH the stuff you find. You'll get skill gains for later so you can gather what you need when you pick up a crafting profession. This will help you make money in the early stages of the game when money is harder to come by.
DO mining and Herbalist so you can Make money massive money maker
Usually this depends on your class.
If your a melee based then your should go with mining and blacksmithing. If you want to just make money out of it, since melees aren't very far from their targets skinning and leatherworking are good too.
If your non-melee based then go ahead and do what ever you want. Me personally I chose professions that go with the race. Such as Dwarves: Mining Blacksmith Gnomes: Mining Engenering Night Elves: Hebilism and Apocrethy.
Big money makers are mining and herbalism. But if you want to make something useful out of all the stuff you collect always pick it's secondary proffesion. It may sell for less at first but once you get good at it, it will always be big money makers.
Definitely 2 gathering professions to start with.
Crafted gear isn't very good, it's really not worth leveling up the profession for it IMO. While blizzard has been adding improved gear to the game in both pvp and pve, they have not added many crafted upgrades to compete with them.
If your going to drop one of your crafting professions you should go with enchanting or jewelcrafting. Engineering is very cool, but most of the stuff you make is unreliable and it's not a money maker (except for the mote extractor).
I'm still a miner at 70, it makes tons of gold.
ok most money skinning and mining (not herbalism and mining) If you want to help your self and make money skinning and leatherworking
I'm a lvl 45 Warlock and Enchanting/ Tailoring is the best.
I can amke up to 200g a day.
But it depends what class u are.
Warrior- BS/Mining
Rogue- Alchemy/Herb
Warlock, Mage- Tailoring / Enchanting
Druid- Depends what talents
Hunter- Skinning/ Leatherworking
Paladin- Depends what talents
Preist- Tailoring /Encahnting
Skinning is probably the most convenient profession and it still quite profitable. You can do it right as you are killing monsters so you level and make money off of the skins as well!
I suggest ….
Skinning and Minning,
they both do really well in AH and sell for alot! thats how i got my epic flyer
, but also they are easy to do.
I agree with the sentiments of "two gathering skills". Also note that herbalism and mining do overlap on the mini-map so pick one or the other though it's not unheard of to do both. Herb/mining will earn you more money in the end as it's harder to come by these items versus skinning which many people already do. You'll just do a lot of clicking back-forth.
I wouldn't worry about "helping yourself" really. Most of the things you can make, by the time you gather the ingredients you realize it's not really worth it. Alchemy pots are mostly just enhancements until you get deep into end-game. I've never found anything really useful in blacksmithing. Leatherworking has a few pieces of equipment I found useful but quickly outgrew them within a few short levels.
THE TWO PROFESSIONS I'VE FOUND USEFUL: Engineering has cool gadgets if you're into pvp, but then you're sinking money into a profession when you could be selling the raw materials for a ton on the AH. Enchanting might be useful to level if you go into it strictly for the "d/e" or disenchanting of greens and blues for enchanting mats for resale on the AH. Too many people on the servers already have the high level enchants that it's pointless to grind it up yourself only to have someone undercut you on prices as you try and sell your enchants.
It's really up to you though, I hope this helps!
