Okay I’m a blood elf warlock. We need a lot of soul shards because unfortunately they dont stack so I might want tailoring to make bags, but could anyone tell me the best professions and also maybe what would go with tailoring best?

Having a tailor is nice because you can make your own bags, but you can buy bags from other tailors for a lot less than it’s going to cost you to level tailoring yourself. The BoP tailoring gear sucks compared to what you can get easily at 70 now, and it will take you longer to farm the mats for the tailoring gear than it will to run some instances or PvP battlegrounds and arenas. So unless blizzard releases more up to date tailoring patterns, don’t waste your time with it. The only extra ability that tailoring will give you is netherwing nets, and they aren’t that good anyway and can’t be used in arena.
I have a 70 warlock with enchanting/mining. I have mining for the money because my lock has an epic flyer (that == mad gold). I am going to replace it for Inscription (coming in next expansion) if that profession has any BoP Inscriptionist only stuff.
Enchanting is great to have for the DE ability. But I mainly have it for the +12 spell damage enchant on each one of my rings. Only enchanters can get ring enchants, so this profession provides me with +24 spell damage that I wouldn’t have otherwise.
Jewelcrafting is another profession that will give you an edge. You will be able to craft BoP gems that only you can use that are significantly better than other crafted gems.
Engineering is fun if you can’t decide on another profession, but pretty useless most of the time.
