I just found a Robes Of Insight off of a heavey war golem in the searing gorge and i would like to know how much i should set the start bid and buyout to. I always see these high lvl blue and purple items in the auction house from 10 to 30 gold. I am asking for experienced player to tell me what i should set it to
Seeing as how playing WoW for two years should make me "experienced", i would reccomend you quit WoW before it too late. No one escapes Blizzard.
When you drag the robe to the auction, it will have a starting bid price (the normal sell price), and based on the other players ideas, you come up with your own prices. Start high, and if people don’t buy it, lower it. (learn from mistakes
)
look at the other items in AH to see what the going rate is and then sell it for just a tad less than that, you’ll definately have it sell and only make just a little less than neone else who was trying
Your best bet, as another responder mentioned, is to see what other people are selling the same item for, and sell it for slightly less. If the exact item isn’t available, look for similar items. For example, if you have found the Unnatural Axe of Butt Kicking, you might want to plug "Axe of" in the search field and see what you come up with. Other entries, such as Unnatural Axe of the Wimp or Ginsu Axe of Butt Kicking, may come up, giving you an idea of how much to ask for.
If you get no help from a search, put it in the auction slot and see what you come up with for a reserve price. The price that comes up will be 50 percent more than what a vendor will pay you for it. Always enter a buyout price for your item, and set it at ten times the vendor price for trade items, and five times the vendor price for weapons and armor. The reserve price should be half of the buyout price or less. The lower the reserve price, the closer to the top of the list they will appear, and the more likely you will get a quick sale.
One more thing. For best results, start your auction late at night, and set the time for 24 hours. This will make it less likely for someone with the same or a similar item to auction it for less than your asking price. – LJS
I use Warcraft Auction House Mastery
